The Watcher: [Opening narration for each episode] Time. Space. Reality. It’s more of a linear journey. It’s a prism of infinite possibilities, where a single choice can branch into infinite realities, creating alternate worlds to the ones you know. I like the Watcher. I am your guide through these new, vast realities. Follow me and ponder the question… “What if?” After the Marvel logo appears, it transitions into an animated form in the show’s art style. Edited from Marvel Studios: Legends: Guardians of the Multiverse (2023). A very straightforward episode, speeding up the process of putting the puzzle pieces together. And my facial expressions were pretty straightforward as I watched this episode, as there was no emotion or logical narrative. I understand that it’s an animated show aimed at kids, perhaps? But only the guys who are familiar with the whole MCU so far could probably appreciate it. Let’s see how the other episodes went, but I’m certainly not too keen on them after this one. Edit: The second episode really gave a sense of what the MCU is all about, it was creative and thoughtful, with some major “WHAT IF…” moments. I really enjoyed seeing T’Challa back on screen. However, the third episode was the make or break and made me edit this review. It was so emotional and engaging to watch that I could have watched an entire movie with this episode. I hope to get to a 10 star edit by the end of the season. Edit II: Here’s my extra star for a “weird” yet thought-provoking episode, by far the best of the bunch in terms of writing, voice acting, animation and story. Special mention goes to Benedict Cumberbatch for his impeccable narration. Take a bow to Marvel for making this happen. However, coming to the fifth episode, the episode was certainly entertaining, it was humorous and engaging with quality animation, but once again it showed too much at once, not giving viewers enough time to absorb things. Still a 9/10 overall for the series at least until the next two episodes. Need to finish episode 4 to get a 10 from me.
