Miami, 1991. When his bloodthirsty urges can’t be ignored any longer, young Dexter Morgan must learn to channel his inner darkness as he transitions from student to avenging serial killer with the guidance of his father, Harry.. Christian Slater is older than James Remar was when Dexter (2006) first aired.. In Episode 4, the Blockbuster employee Deb and her friend meet is wearing a dark blue short-sleeved shirt as part of the uniform. In 1991, employees were wearing long-sleeved light blue shirts. The short-sleeves weren’t worn until 4-5 years later.. Followed by Dexter: Resurrection (2025). Dexter is easily one of my favorite TV shows of all-time and one of the few shows I can watch all the way through several times over without getting bored. It’s hard for me to put into words how much I loved the original show. The only thing that’s not good about it is the ending. Even though the ending was pretty bad but that still doesn’t take away from how good the show is overall. So with that said I was really looking forward to Dexter: Original Sin and it did not disappoint. Patrick Gibson who plays a young Dexter Morgan absolutely kills it, as does the rest of the cast. This is a must watch for any fan of Dexter.
