I am a huge Dexter fan through and through.
Like Harry (according to Dexter), change is not easy for me
Dexter (seasons 1-8) is the only show I watch over and over again. So when Dexter: New Blood came out, the initial scene change, the coldness, the absence of some beloved actors, and the lack of humor and Latin music were a big disappointment for me. However, when I watched it as a standalone series (without comparing it to the original), I loved it. Now, with this new series, of course we are not used to new faces in the cast.

We all remember young Dexter, Deb, and Harry looking different, even Laura Moser. However, I think it might be unfair to judge the actors, since we’re not in the position of casting directors and producers. I think they had to take into account a lot of factors besides their similar looks. Hall, Jennifer Carpenter, James Remar, and the rest of the original cast could magically play younger versions of their characters, but time only goes one way.
(Bonus: I really like Christian Slater
He’s brilliant as always!) So far, after watching the first episode twice, I love him. I think everyone did a pretty decent job stepping into those big Dexter shoes. In fact, I can’t deny the fact that I’m even more excited to see Dexter: Resurrection after seeing Dexter come back to life in the ER. In short, I think this show is cool and I’ll probably like it even more as time goes on.
