Original stories set in the worlds of iconic video games are featured in this animated anthology series. Video games have made the leap to the screen and we are celebrating the genre with a closer look at over 50 video game adaptations into films and shows. Clive Standen will reprise his role as the voice of Demetrius Titus, the main character in the video game Space Marine 2.
Well, ladies and gentlemen, it is!
Expanding the video game medium with content made by talented fans with unlimited budgets sounds wonderful, right? The first 8 episodes have been fantastic, each one encapsulating the universe they chose for it. I have heard critics say that they didn’t take any risks with the show.
Have you seen the Pac Man episode?
Because I have, and I feel like they took a big risk there. The show is stunning, every art style seems well chosen and mastered (as you would expect from the team at love, death and robots) it bodes well for the future, hopefully it will allow the gaming media to expand even more. It is full of Easter eggs without the annoyance of the show pointing me in the direction of every detail screaming at me HAVE YOU PLAYED THE GAME???
And in the world we live in, that is already incredible
This is the first time that people who truly love the game have risked expanding the media and pleasing us, the fans. But the beauty is that even people who have never played the games, can enjoy, understand and empathize with the characters and that seems like a great challenge they have overcome. The show also has its cons of course, some episodes were not as great as others (I’m looking at you, brave new world).

Yes, some episodes were short, yes, some jokes were a little off, I never said it was perfect, just that it was great.. “One Hundred Years of Solitude” is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month.
